Joe Stanford is a strategic communicator and editor with decades of experience with America’s infrastructure, including work in federal programs related to energy and transportation. His primary career focus has been on communicating difficult and important concepts to key stakeholders, including translating highly technical R&D work into language that can be understood (and appreciated) by the general public. As a former merchant marine engineering and deck officer, he also has a deep on-the-water perspective of America’s maritime infrastructure.

He has master’s degree from MIT in System Design and Management, focusing on complex socio-technical systems, with a specialization in transportation and urban planning.
